Connect encrypted Spaces to your own Graft server without an Eidos account. Android 9 or newer is required.

What's new

Custom-server Sync

Open Sync → Custom server and enter the same HTTPS server address and access key used on your computer. Browse the server's encrypted Spaces, then use the Space's sync password to download one or connect your current local Space. You can also enable sync for a new Space and publish it to an empty repository. Use Sync now to send and receive versions.

The server access key and sync password are encrypted locally with Android Keystore. Saved connections survive restarting the app. Disconnecting removes this phone's connection and credentials while keeping local files, version history and the server copy.

Encrypted custom-server connections require HTTPS, except for a loopback server on the same device. The advanced connection for plain Graft repositories remains separate.

Bug fixes

  • Folder export: Folder export no longer gets silently skipped after returning from Android’s folder picker. Pending exports keep their original Space, preventing files from another Space from being exported.

Install and testing scope

Download eidos-android-0.5.0.apk and verify it against SHA256SUMS. Install over the previous stable APK to retain local data. Signed GitHub APKs support ARM64 and x86-64; Google Play distribution is not configured.

Custom-server testing covered encrypted transfers over real HTTPS, saved credentials, the native configuration screens and reopening a saved file after a complete app restart in an Android emulator. Physical devices, natural background scheduling, Doze behavior and a full TalkBack pass were outside this round's scope. Keep the app open during initial downloads and manual transfers.

Release summary

Downloaded Spaces automatically check for committed updates from paired computers at launch, on returning to the app and while idle, with background checks scheduled by Android. The computer must be online on the same LAN with a compatible Lite version. Only clean fast-forward updates apply; drafts, open editors, local changes and conflicts defer them. Checks do not create checkpoints, merge or upload phone changes; use manual Sync to send changes. Android may delay background work.

Embedded editors regain native scroll indicators that follow light and dark mode. Export from the file list waits for the foreground refresh after returning from the file picker. Android 9+; signed GitHub APKs, with no Google Play distribution.

Release summary

LAN pairing tries alternative addresses and verifies the computer certificate before sending credentials, recovering from unreachable VPN or virtual-network addresses. Update Lite to 0.29.1 and generate a new pairing code. Removing a favorite removes its list entry. The shared editor adds column-header filters, clearer filter editing and consistent record menus. Android 9+; signed GitHub APKs. Keep the phone in the foreground during transfers.

Release summary

Compatible plugins can run local file hooks after Markdown saves and renames; enable them in the relevant Space. Long record titles wrap, version controls distinguish inspection from saving, and Content settings explain Markdown record bodies. Fixes touch editing inside links, draft protection when recycling files, spurious schema changes and plugin attachment responses. Android 9+; signed GitHub APKs. Keep LAN transfers in the foreground; mobile cloud Sync is not included.

Use Lite 0.22.0 or later for LAN pairing, keep initial transfers in the foreground and review conflicts on Desktop. Mobile cloud Sync and Google Play distribution are not included.
