Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of eidos.space, Eidos accounts, purchases, and optional hosted services such as Eidos Sync. By using those services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the hosted services.

2. Software and open-source licenses

Eidos File, Eidos Lite, the command-line tools, and related source code are provided under the licenses published with each project or package. Those licenses govern the software itself. These Terms govern accounts, commercial transactions, and hosted services and do not replace the applicable open-source licenses.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account and authentication methods secure, for information submitted through your account, and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized use. You must provide accurate information and may not use the service in a way that impersonates others or violates applicable law.

4. Purchases, Credits, and subscriptions

Prices, included service, billing period, and renewal terms are shown at checkout. Payments may be processed by Creem or another identified provider. Eidos Credits are prepaid service value used for eligible Eidos services; they are not cash, a bank deposit, or cryptocurrency. Promotional Credits may have separate limits or expiration terms disclosed when granted.

Recurring subscriptions continue for the period shown until canceled. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Taxes, refunds, and payment disputes are handled according to applicable law and the terms shown at checkout.

5. Your data

You retain your rights in the files and content you create. You grant Eidos only the limited rights needed to transmit, store, process, and return data that you choose to use with a hosted service. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate local backups and for ensuring that you have the right to process any data you submit.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the services to violate law or others' rights, distribute malware, interfere with service operation, probe or bypass access controls, abuse shared resources, or provide unauthorized third-party access. We may limit abusive traffic or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users and the service.

7. Service changes and availability

Hosted services may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes. Local Eidos files remain independent, but you should export or fetch any remote data you need before a hosted entitlement ends.

8. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the software and hosted services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Eidos and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, or data arising from use of the services. Liability that cannot legally be limited remains unaffected.

10. Changes, termination, and contact

We may update these Terms and will publish the new version and effective date here. We may suspend or terminate hosted access for material breach, abuse, legal requirements, or security risk. You may stop using the services at any time. Questions can be sent through the Eidos GitHub repository or Discord community.
